Last year, Henri SELMER Paris returned to its roots by relaunching the manufacture of reeds for saxophones and clarinets, the founder's first activity in 1885. Our reeds have already won over many musicians around the world.

Our reeds are currently available for soprano, alto and tenor saxophones, as well as Bb/A clarinets.

ACOUSTIC SIGNATURE

Thanks to its acoustic expertise and collaboration with musicians from various backgrounds, Maison SELMER has created a new reed profile offering a distinctive acoustic signature, characterized by exceptional density, roundness and sonic warmth.

MANUFACTURING PRECISION

Each reed is carefully crafted on high-precision traditional machines, ensuring consistent cutting quality and thus providing more good reeds per box. The Keyence laser profile reader plays a vital role in maintaining this quality.

CAREFUL CALIBRATION

Henri SELMER Paris reeds are available in Strengths 2 to 4, and are carefully calibrated by ¼ strength between 2.5 and 3.5. The gaps between reeds in the same box are reduced to a minimum, thus offering the musician a greater number of excellent reeds.

QUALITY OF REED

Henri SELMER Paris carefully selects wild reeds from the Var region in the South of France. ARUNDO DONAX canes are renowned for their exceptional fibre content, ensuring increased longevity of the reeds and optimum resistance to temperature and humidity variations. This wild reed thrives in a preserved natural environment, far from any exposure to pesticides.
