Pierre Bertaud du Chazaud
At the age of 20, Pierre Bertaud du Chazaud, joined his first band, L’air de rien, which recorded two albums of French songs (“chansons francaises”), with brass instruments.
In 2009, he played soloist clarinet, in the piece, Ima ou la mère dépossédée by Serge Kaufmann.
With the klezmer electro band, Anakronic Electro Orkestra, from 2007 to 2017, he released four albums, one which received ƒƒƒƒ from Télérama and a second in collaboration with David Krakauer.
In the same period, he started playing with the Spanish revolutionary song group El Comunero, with whom he produced four albums.
In 2019, Pierre created Trio Carthage with two other musicians, whose repertoire is a mix of Mediterranean, Spanish, Turkish, Israeli, Arab music, with a record coming out in May 2020.
Being a natural performer, he has recently challenged himself to create and compose a solo performance in which he mixes the timbre of his clarinet with insane sounds from his computer.
Pierre Bertaud du Chazaud is also a composer for many animation films, such as Glong, a short film by Romain Blanc-Tailleur & Damien Pelletier, a cinematic and musical cross-composition, which received a prize for best music at the Verona International Film Festival in Italy.
In 2011, Pierre composed music for the traced on paper animation Plato, by Léonard Cohen, recognised as best student short film at the Festival d’Annecy.
He also produced the music for Zooz, in 2015, made by Romain Blanc-Tailleur and for Le parfum d’Irak, in 2017, an Arte series by Feurat Alani and Léonard Cohen, which won the best web series prize at the Festival de Luchon.
