Lukasz Wojcicki
Łukasz Wójcicki is a polish saxophonist of the young generation, international soloist, chamber musician, composer and lecturer of saxophone class in Academy of Music in Łódź. He studied in Academy of Music in Łódź and in Katowice. He developed his skills at masterclasses lead by Bernard Steuer, Arno Bornkamp, Vincent David, Timoty McAllister, Jean Denis Michat, Philippe Portejoie and Nobuya Sugawa.
He belongs to a select group of saxophonists who successfully combine classical music with jazz and popular music. He gives many concerts per year in Poland and abroad, both as a soloist and in chamber ensembles.
As a soloist he has been invited to perform with numerous symphony, military and wind orchestras. Every year year he performs works by many contemporary Polish composers, many of which have been dedicated to him and never performed before.
In more recent years, he has been invited to participate as a jury member in a number of highly regarded saxophone competitions. He has been invited also as a lecturer to the international courses of music interpretation. Łukasz Wójcicki has won many prestigious awards during several competitions, including: IX Internalional Competition of Contemporary Chamber Music in Cracov, I International Saxophone Competition in Łódź, III Master Competition in Warsaw, Master Chamber Competition (Turniej Kameralny) in Bydgoszcz. In 2015 he recived grant from Polish goverment given by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage.
As a soloist and chamber musician he gave concerts at international festivals, e.g. in Saxopen – World Saxophone Congress in Strasburg, I Polish Saxophone Congress, Europe Saxophone Forum, Musica Moderna in Łódź to name a few.
As a chamber musician Łukasz Wójcicki performs in duet with pianist Agnieszka Sucheniak-Wójcicka. They have won a lot of awards in chamber competitions as well.
