Clio Theodoridis
Clio Theodoridis, emerging saxophonist from the rich tradition of the French school, was born in Athens, where she began her musical studies at the Zografou Conservatory. She continued her training in France, first joining the Conservatoire of Lyon under the direction of Jean-Denis Michat and Lumière University Lyon 2. Her quest for improvement led her to the Higher Academy of Music in Strasbourg, where she studied with Philippe Geiss, before perfecting her art at the University of Montreal under the guidance of Jean-François Guay.
Holder of a Master's in Music (MUS) with honors “Exceptional” from the University of Montreal, Clio also holds a Bachelor's in Performance and a teaching diploma (DE) from the Higher Academy of Music in Strasbourg, as well as a Bachelor's in Music and Musicology and a conservatory prize from the Conservatoire of Lyon. Her career is marked by a constant commitment to excellence and innovation, refining her skills with renowned masters such as Arno Bornkamp, Jean-Marie Londeix, the Habanera Quartet, and through participation in prestigious events such as the World Saxophone Congress Saxopen in Strasbourg, the Habanera Academy, World Saxophone Day, and the International Music Diaries Workshops in Thessaloniki.
Currently residing in Quebec, she is a member of Duo Aster and the tenor saxophonist of the Saxologie ensemble, performing at festivals and concert series organized by renowned institutions such as Jeunesses Musicales Canada, La Virée Classique de Montréal, the Festival Intime de Musique des Bergeronnes, Les Rendez-vous musicaux de Laterrière, and more. On the international stage, she can be found as a soloist or chamber musician at venues such as Denkibunka Hall in Nagoya (JP), the Aegean Arts Festival in Crete (Greece), Châtelet in Paris (France), and Jiangsu Grand Theater in Nanjing (China). Clio has also distinguished herself at the Stockholm International Music Competition (SIMC), where she won third prize, as well as at the National Young Talents Competition X.O.N. in Athens, where she was a laureate.
Since the fall of 2020, she has been sharing her expertise as a saxophone professor at the Conservatoire de Musique de Saguenay (Québec).
