Cédric Carceles
Originally from the south of France, Cédric Carceles began learning the saxophone in Arles, in Denis Farinone's class, before going on to perfect his skills with Jean-Pierre Magnac at the CRR in Marseille. He entered the CNSMDP in Claude Delangle's class in 2001, where he was unanimously awarded a first prize in saxophone and chamber music (class of Lazlo Hadady and Michel Moragues) as well as the two corresponding DFS.
Musician with the Orchestre d'harmonie de la Musique de l'Air de Paris since 2002, he was appointed solo tenor saxophonist there in April 2008. He has also had the opportunity to perform with other orchestras (Orchestre de Paris, Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire...) under the batons of R. Chailly, Y. Temirkanov, Y. Sado, C. Eschenbach...
He is very mcuch attached to contemporary creation and the development of the saxophone repertoire. He had the opportunity to work with Vincent David and the soloists of the Ensemble Intercontemporain under the direction of Pierre Boulez in Lucerne during the Lucerne Festival Preview Academy in 2003, with the ensemble L'Itinéraire, the Multilatérale and the ensemble CBarré.
He has won several national and international competitions and is also very much involved in chamber music. Since 2004, he has been a member of the Axone saxophone quartet, which performs regularly in France and abroad (Netherlands, Serbia and Montenegro, Nigeria, Niger, Morocco...). He teaches saxophone at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Communal de Sèvres.
