Franck Wolf
Saxophonist from the age of eight, arranger and composer Franck Wolf studied saxophone and percussion at the Conservatoire de Strasbourg - France.
Since 2004, Franck has participated alongside Biréli Lagrène, to 4 albums and a DVD released by Dreyfus Jazz and Universal, up to 500 concerts in New York, Montreal, Moscow, Vienna, Marciac, Den Haag, Istanbul, Paris... He currently plays in the guitarist 's trio, quartet orquintet.
Founding member of straSax, he created in 2011 the Franck Wolf Trio with Marcel Loeffler on accordion and Davide Petrocca on double bass. (CD "Bol d’air" 02/2013).
Since 2014 Mieko Miyazaki and Franck Wolf play in a saxophone and koto duo, a traditional Japanese instrument. (CD Dankin 06/2015)
His latest album Franck Wolf & friends – live 2013-2017 is a best of 7 concerts with 7 different bands, featuring 20 musiciens, like André Ceccarelli, Sébastien Giniaux, Anne Sila…
In 2019, he created the Franck Wolf Acoustic Five, a quintet of violin, cello/guitar, double bass, piano and saxophone, whose album has been released in early 2020.
He is also the author of 4 educational books published by Advance Music: 6 trios for Alt Sax & Rhythm Section Vol 1&2, 3 Blues & 3 Dixieland for sax quartet (SATB).
