Lucy Derosier
Lucy Derosier completed her musical studies at Bemidji State University, Bemidji, Minnesota with Louis Caimano and Steven Konecne; Conservatory of Bordeaux, France under the guidance of Jean-Marie Londeix.
Represented the United States at the World Saxophone Congress in Nuremberg, Germany, 1982 and represented Italy at the W.S.C. in Pesaro, Italy 1992; Minneapolis, Minnesota (USA) 2003 and Ljubljana, Slovenia in 2006.
By 1985 was fully established in Italy and performed with many groups, including The Italian Saxophone Quartet on numerous European tours 1986-1992, made various recordings and was part of the organization committee at the 10th World Saxophone Congress in Pesaro, Italy, 1992.
Solo performances include concerts with Symphonic Orchestra Rai of Turin at the Biennale di Venezia, 1985, multiple appearances with the Symphonic Orchestra of Bari, Italy, 1989, as well as appearances with the International Orchestra of Italy.
Lucy Derosier has conducted master classes and concerts in Italy as well as in various American Universities including Bemidji State University, University of North Dakota, Concordia College of Minnesota and Bowling Green University of Ohio.
Lucy received various honours from the State of Minnesota for her artistic merits.
She was the first woman Professor of Saxophone in the history of the Italian Conservatory Institution (1989). She has taught classical saxophone in the following Italian Conservatories: Cosenza, Potenza, Monopoli, Foggia, Cesena.
She recorded for the Italian Edition BMG and Edipan.
Lucy is currently Professor of Saxophone at the “G.B. Pergolesi” Conservatory of Fermo, Italy.
