Octet Nederlands Saxofoon
The Netherlands Saxophone Octet, founded in 2014, plays the invention of Adolphe Sax -from the high, sparkling soprano, via the generally known alto, tenor and baritone to the droning, rich sound of the bass saxophone- as an orchestra and ventures into arrangements of all kinds of line-ups. Among other things, they received the right from the Schönberg Foundation to adapt and perform the fantastic Verklärte Nacht. The same goes for Simeon ten Holt's Canto Ostinato.
They gave concerts during the Grachtenfestival Amsterdam, Festival Wonderfeel and Festival Oranjewoud, in the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao and at the Manana Manana Festival. In November 2019 NS8 presented its first compact disc in the Concertgebouw Amsterdam.
The Nederlands Saxofoon Octet (NS8) features Lisa Wyss, soprano saxophone, David Cristobal Litago, soprano saxophone, Dineke Nauta, alto saxophone, Tom Sanderman, alto saxophone, Jenita Veurink, tenor saxophone, Nina van Helvert, tenor saxophone, Juan Manuel Dominguez, baritone saxophone, Marijke Schröer, bass saxophone.
