Quartetto di Sassofoni Accademia
The Quartetto di Sassofoni Accademia: Gaetano Di Bacco, soprano sax, Enzo Filippetti, alto sax, Giuseppe Berardini, tenor sax, Fabrizio Paoletti, baryton sax, was founded in 1984. Due to the fine level of execution, its wide range of repertoire and its many concerts (over 1,500 held since 1984) it is considered at an international level among the most active Italian groups of its kind.
They have held concerts in places of international prestige, like Mozarteum of Salzsburg, Biennale di Venezia, Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique de Paris, Teresa Carreño Theater Caracas, Teatro dell'Opera di Maracay, Palau de la Musica of Valencia, Kornzerthaus in Berne, MACBA in Barcelona, during their numerous and repeated concert tours in Canada, USA, Poland, Germany, France, Switzerland, Venezuela, Brasil, Japan, Spain, Sweden, Finland, Austria, Malta, Greece, Turkey, Hungary, Croatia, Czech Republic.
Their appearences in Italy for important Italian musical institutes have included: Accademia Filarmonica di Bologna, Filarmonica Laudamo di Messina, Istituzione Universitaria dei Concerti in Rome, Società dei Concerti B. Barattelli in L'Aquila, Roman Philarmonic Accademy, etc. The quartet has worked with soloist of international fame such as Claude Delangle, Bruno Canino, Luisa Castellani, J.V. der Rost and important Italian composers like Ennio Morricone, Ada Gentile, Franco Mannino and Marco Di Bari.
The Quartetto di Sassofoni Accademia has relased 18 compact discs for the Nuova Era, Dynamic, Edipan, Iktius and BMG Ariola recording labels. Its members are all saxophonist teachers in the Music Conservatories of Roma, L'Aquila, Pescara and Udine.
The Quartetto di Sassofoni Accademia is Selmer artist since 1992, they all play Henri SELMER Paris Serie III saxophones.
