Reference 54
The “Reference 54”, more centered than the “Reference 36”, takes the design of the famous "Mark VI", produced from 1954.
A great flexibility, an almost infinite variety of timbres, a very centered and at the same time very malleable sound.
A saxophone whose main quality is to adapt to all profiles of saxophonists, whatever their style or level. The Reference model goes as far as reproducing the design of some of the keys of the famous Mark VI model, which offers ergonomics made for the largest number of musicians.
Savoir-faire
The saxophone is a particularly sensitive instrument, consisting of more than 600 parts. Its production requires more than 2,000 operations.
At Henri SELMER Paris, the manufacturing process is totally integrated for a better control of quality and supply processes.
In the century-old workshops located in Mantes-la-Ville, our craftspeople use traditional, unique and authentic know-how, combining high technology with respect for traditional methods of making instruments.

Testimonials
On tenor, I rely on the Reference 54, which is very versatile, allowing me to be precise and at ease in classical and jazz music. It's very efficient, with a rich, centred sound texture and perfect ergonomics, just like the Mark VI.
The Selmer saxophone is at the cutting edge of technology. Its mouthpiece series Concept offers a new departure for all saxophonists.
The tone and richness of the sound that emanates from my Selmer saxophones fills the room and becomes my persona.
My Selmer Reference 54 shapes my sound with sensitivity, allowing me to share my personality through the horn on the highest level. Unlike other new horns, it doesn't feel thin, rather, it feels warm and supports all of my explorations of tone and volume.
