Alessandro Malagnino
Alessandro Malagnino was born on May 31, 1998 in Casarano, Italy.
He first studied at the Tito Schipa Conservatory in Ceglie Messapica with Alessandro Trianni, where he obtained a Master's degree in Saxophone with the distinction "110/110 con lode e menzione d'onore", thanks also to the invaluable advice of Juan Jimenez Alba, who had a profound effect on him during a year at the Manuel Castillo Conservatory in Seville.
He then decided to perfect his skills in France at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Versailles (France) with Vincent David and his assistant Nicolas Arsenijevic, and then at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et Danse de Paris (CNSMDP) in Claude Delangle's class, where he obtained the Prix du 2e Cycle supérieur with unanimous honors and congratulations from the jury on May 31, 2022.
Alessandro is a prizewinner in several international competitions, including the Andorra SaxFest, the Adolphe Sax Competition in L'Haÿ-les-Roses (France), the 3rd Exigentia International Saxophone Competition, the Marco Fiorindo Competition, and the 3rd France Music Competition, among others.
Alessandro performs in concert as a soloist, and with other chamber music ensembles such as the Ensemble Next du 3e cycle at the CNSMDP. He has collaborated with orchestras such as the Jonico Salentina Wind Orchestra, the Orchestre National d'Île-de-France and the ICO Tito Schipa Orchestra of Lecce.
He is also invited to give master classes as a teacher in Italy at the XXVII International Saxophone Stage in Fermo and at the Conservatorio di Musica Pietro Mascagni in Livorno, as well as abroad at Harceg Novi in Montenegro.
