Emanuele Silvano
Emanuele Silvano began studying the clarinet at the age of 9 and continued his studies under Maestro Fernando De Cesario, obtaining a brilliant diploma at the Conservatorio Gesualdo da Venosa in Potenza.
In 2007 he was awarded the second-level academic diploma in musical disciplines with first-class honours, presenting a thesis entitled Le XXe siècle: l'esthétique de la nouveauté dans le répertoire pour clarinette solo (The twentieth century: the aesthetics of novelty in the repertoire for solo clarinet). In 2009 he obtained the second-level academic diploma, which qualifies him for teacher training.
He has perfected his skills by attending master classes with internationally renowned clarinettists such as Fabrizio Meloni, Calogero Palermo, Karl Leister, Romain Guyot, Patrick Messina and Stefano Novelli.
He has won numerous national and international music competitions as a soloist and chamber musician, including the Riviera Etrusca in Piombino (Livorno), the International Music Competition in Cortemilia (Cuneo), the European Music Competition in Moncalieri (Turin), the V. Martina de Massafra (Taranto), Euterpe de Corato (Bari), Magnificat Lupiae et Premio Paisiello de Lecce, Città di Valentino de Castellaneta (Taranto), Città di Fasano, La Vallonea de Tricase (Lecce), Swiss International Music Competition.
He has performed in various orchestral and chamber music ensembles: the Potenza Symphony Orchestra, the Aretè clarinet quartet, the Misty clarinet quartet, the Aloïse duo (clarinet and piano) and, in particular, the Aldo Gatto clarinet quartet, with which he has developed the original repertoire of this group in collaboration with his closest musical colleagues.
Since 2009, he has been teaching clarinet in a secondary school, winning numerous prizes with his pupils in national and international music competitions.
In 2019, he decided to combine his passion for studying the clarinet with the knowledge he has developed in the field of video writing and music technology by creating his blog The Clarinet Man, in which he offers content from a variety of repertoires, from baroque to contemporary music and from solo clarinet to ensemble. Present on numerous web and social platforms, he now has over seventy recordings and a total of almost one million views.
Since 2023, he has been collaborating with the Edizioni musicali Eufonia publishing house, offering his transcriptions for his instrument.
