Heng-Shuo Chang
Heng Shuo Chang (1982, Taiwan) graduated from the Conservatoire National Région de Rueil-Malmaison and the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Départemental Erik Satie. He studied with Daniel Gremelle and Chiharu Lemarie.
As a performer, Heng-Shuo Chang has performed with the Sound of Kaohsiung Wind Ensemble and the Kaohsiung Art Melody Wind Band, and has given several solo recitals in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
In terms of teaching and promotion, Chang is one of the most successful educators in Taiwan in promoting saxophone, and has many followers in Taipei, Taoyuan, Tainan, Kaohsiung and Pingtung.
In 2014, Chang founded the A-Team Saxophone Ensemble, the first saxophone ensemble in the sinophone area composed of a full range of SELMER instruments, which includes saxophone players from southern Taiwan to perform original and adapted repertoire.
In 2015, he collaborated with Japanese composer Yosuke Fukuda to premiere the TAIWAN National Park Suite, which received high praise in the Taiwanese music scene and has since been followed by many other groups.
In order to pursue more delicate musical interpretation, Chang is currently studying conducting at the National Kaohsiung Normal University Department of Music Master Class, under the tutelage of Wang Chan, He is currently a saxophone division teacher and wind band conductor at several schools.
