Loïc Poinsenet
Loïc Poinsenet has initiated a number of artistic projects involving theatre and street music (Fanfare Les Traine-savates / Jazz Combo Box / Le Quartet Délirius), and began performing as a saxophonist with rhythm & blues and reggae bands. In 2003 he became artistic director of the Fanfare Les Traîne-savates, with whom he wrote two shows: Coup d'savate and Rencontre d'un second genre (co-written with choreographer Eric Mezino). During these 5 years, he recorded two albums and took part in the composition of the group's third album.
Following three years of national and international touring, he created the Jazz Combo Box and toured Canada and Quebec with the Grüv'n Brass. This project led to tours of South America, North America, Europe and Asia from 2009 to 2013. He leads the band and organises a number of regional projects, as well as being involved in teaching by offering courses.
Over the last 10 years, he took a professional training course for adults at the CRD in Niort, during which he obtained his DEM in Jazz and Improvised Music with Robby Boillot and Jean-Jacques Elangué. On his return from a tour of Eastern Europe (summer 2014) with the saxophone Quartet Délirius, he decided to get involved in teaching the saxophone and clarinet at the École de Musique du Pays Mellois until July 2024.
Since 2017, the clarinet has been at the forefront of his artistic projects, with the creation of the LÖJO Duo Project, in which he plays bass clarinet on a programme of traditional klezmer compositions and themes. At the same time, he has been collaborating with composer and clarinettist Alexis Ciesla to create pieces for educational collections for student clarinettists (Ebony Pictures and Ebony au Cirque).
Since the summer of 2024, and following the opportunity to present his solo project at the Rencontres Pédagogiques Nationales pour la Clarinette organised by Henri SELMER Paris in 2021, he has devoted himself essentially to his ‘solo on stage’ project - Loki Clarinette/FX/Looper, born in 2018, the year in which he recorded his first solo album, Rêveries Sonores, In it, he puts digital tools at the heart of his creative work, while at the same time running master classes at conservatoires and music schools, introducing students and teachers to the technique of looping and multiple effects applied to the sound of clarinets and saxophones. This artistic and educational project is now part of the Quatuor Ellipsos saxophone academy every summer. Loïc Poinsenet devotes most of his time to creation, composing pieces for large ensembles and running a clarinet course every summer in Deux-Sèvres alongside clarinettist Axelle Ciofolo-de Peretti.
In 2025, this solo will see the release of his second opus, 50/50, in which his latest compositions will be recorded with the presence of other composers collaborating on this new solo album with clarinettists Laurent Fléchier, Thibault Bétrancourt and Alexis Ciesla.
