Mobilis Saxophone Quartett
In search of new musical possibilities, four ambitious Viennese saxophonists founded the Viennese saxophonists founded the Mobilis Saxophone Quartett in 2009.
The ensemble has been able to prove its high musical quality from the very beginning, for example for example, when it won the prestigious Austrian music competition Gradus ad Parnassum or became a finalist at the Fidelio Competition. Artist of the Year recording, was awarded the Ö1 Pasticcio Prize. The ensemble is a regular guest at renowned festivals in Austria and abroad, and premieres new works by young composers.
Concerts have taken the group to Austria's most prestigious concert venues, such as the Golden Hall of the Musikverein Vienna, the Vienna Konzerthaus, the Brucknerhaus Linz and the ORF Radiokulturhaus. Concert tours to Chile, Japan, France, Belgium, Slovenia, Hungary, Croatia, Slovakia…
One of the main goals of the ensemble is to introduce the public to the original literature for saxophone quartet and to the sound of the classical saxophone, which is still unknown in many places. Mobilis Saxophone Quartet is an innovative and flexible ensemble, always ready to innovate, with an eye on the future of saxophone culture.
In 2023 their new album Kaleidoscope will be released by the renowned label Gramola Vienna.
