Rie Arima
Rie Arima is a distinguished clarinetist and bass clarinetist from Nara City, whose musical journey has been marked by exceptional achievements. Topping her class at Kyoto City University of Arts, she furthered her education with postgraduate studies at Tokyo University of the Arts.
Rie has left an indelible mark on the music scene, showcasing her talent in prestigious events such as the YOMIURI Debut Concert and the YAMAHA Wind Instruments Debut Concert. Notably, she was a standout participant in the 68th Japan Music Competition and secured a prize at the 18th Japan Wind and Percussion Competition.
Her artistry extends beyond borders, as Rie has graced stages at music festivals both in Japan and abroad. Her performances resonate not only on radio and television but also as a guest performer with orchestras and brass bands across Japan. Demonstrating her commitment to the musical community, she has served as a respected judge in wind band competitions and ensemble contests nationwide.
In addition to her captivating performances, Rie's contributions to music education are noteworthy. She authored a series of clarinet one-point lessons for the esteemed Band Journal in 2014. Furthermore, she imparts her knowledge as a clarinet section instructor in the DVD Miru Dake Dakki Master, (translates to Visual Musical Instrument Mastery) released by Japan Laim Co.
Rie's versatility shines through in her role as an arranger of clarinet ensembles, with numerous compositions published by Super Kids Records. Currently, she is an esteemed member of the Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra and shares her expertise as a part-time lecturer at Senzoku Gakuen College of Music.
Rie showcases her exceptional musical talent using Henri SELMER Paris B♭ and A Muse and the Bass Privilege to Low C clarinets.
