Silvio Rossomando
Silvio Rossomando graduated from the G. Martucci conservatory of Salerno with full marks. He perfected and carried out numerous masters under the guidance of Federico Mondelci, Arno Bornkamp, Lars Mlekusch and Fabrice Moretti.
Silvio has an intense concert and chamber ensemble activity as a soloist including the Duo Olimpo and the Italian Saxophone Quartet, where he performed in numerous international festivals and theaters including Auditorium G. Verdi in Milan, Teatru Municipal Filarmonica M.Jora Bacau (Romania), Universität Mozarteum Salzburg (Austria), Italian Cultural Institute of Dublin (Ireland), International Festival of Piatra-Neamt (Moldova), Fundation Pro Musica Bona di Krakow (Poland), Auditorium V. Bellini in Naples, Olimpico Theater in Rome.
He is the winner of numerous national and international competitions including: 1st absolute prize at the 3rd international competition "Prize crescendo in musica city of Florence", 1st prize at the 5th international competition "Academy Award 2015" Rome, 1st prize at the IV international chamber music competition "Rotary Symphony 2016" of Castel Gandolfo (RM), 1st absolute prize at the XX International Competition "Pietro Argento" of Gioia del Colle (BA) with appointment as jury commissioner in the following edition, 1st prize at the "Hyperion" International Chamber Music Competition in Rome.
Furthermore, he won auditions held by the G. Verdi Symphony Orchestra of Milan, the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Teatro Regio of Turin and the Sicilian Symphony Orchestra of Palermo, where he performed under the guidance of numerous conductors such as: Wein Marschall, Luis Bacalov, Juraj Valčuha, Ezio Bosso, Daniel Oren, Riccardo Chailly, Zhang Xian, Clause Peter Flor, John Axerlod, Donato Renzetti, Gavriel Heine, Stanislav Kochanovsky, etc. Again as an orchestral saxophonist he performs with the Salerno Philharmonic Orchestra and the Rossini Symphony Orchestra of Pesaro.
He performs as a soloist with the G.Verdi Symphonic Orchestra of Milan, with the M.Jora Philarmonics of Bacau (Romania), the Chisinau National Symphony Orchestra (Moldavia) performing compositions for saxophone and orchestra of Claude Debussy, Jaques Ibert, John Williams, Darius Milhaud, François Borne.
He has performed concerts at the G. Verdi Auditorium in Milan, Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Universität Mozarteum Salzburg (Austria), Concert Hall kkl Luzern (Switzerland), Teatro Comunale di Modena, Teatro G. Verdi in Salerno, Teatro Regio in Turin, Teatro Politeama in Palermo, Sferisterio Theater in Macerata Teatro Comunale in Lecco, Teatro Carcano in Milan.
He performs and records music by Nino Rota, Giuseppe De Rosa, Nicola Campogrande, Pietro Blumetti, Mario Cesa for the first time. He records for Decca, Italian Way Music, Zork Digital Planet, Ema Vinci Records, Aulicus Classics, Rai Radio3.
He is invited to perform master classes as a teacher at the G. Rossini Conservatory of Pesaro and at the Italian Saxophone Academy.
