Eva Villegas
Clarinetist Eva Villegas is a laureate of the Soloist Diploma obtained with distinction at the Haute Ecole de musique (Music School) of Geneva in Thomas Friedli's class.
Her musical career has led her to be taught by numerous French clarinetists such as Michel Arrignon, Nicolas Baldeyrou, Michel Lethiec and Jean-Louis Bergerard. Passionate about teaching, she completed her training in Finland at the Sibelius Academy and obtained a Master's Degree, with distinction, in musical pedagogy. She also received the advice of the Finnish clarinetists, Harri Mäki and Karri Kriikku.
Eva Villegas is invited to play in numerous orchestras, such as the Orchestra of the Opera Theatre of Saint Etienne under the direction of Messrs Laurent Campellone, Christopher Franklin, David Greilsammer, Gwennolé Rufet, Julien Masmondet and David Reiland, with the Orchestra of the Opera of Toulon under the direction of Hugo Gonzalez-Pioli.
She has also participated in numerous concerts with the Orchestra of the Suisse Romande (French-speaking Switzerland), in particular at the Victoria Hall as well as at the Grand Theatre of Geneva under the direction of Messrs Marek Janowsky and Marc Albrecht, with the Orchestra Tapiola Sinfonietta in Finland under the direction of Mr Stefan Asbury.
Eva Villegas teaches the clarinet at the Conservatory of Music in Salon de Provence, and chamber music and clarinet at the Conservatory of Toulon Provence Méditerranée. She is regularly invited to give Master Class.
Eva performs at numerous music festivals as a duo, trio and quartet. Since 2016, the clarinetist Eva Villegas and the organist Brice Montagnoux form a duo of a rare complicity. Eva Villegas and Brice Montagnoux make the most beautiful churches and cathedrals of France and abroad resonate. They have a large repertoire from Baroque period to contemporary music, written or arranged for organ and clarinets in B-flat, A, E-flat, and bass clarinet. In 2019, they have registered their first album in the church of St Michel de Grimaud, under the label Organroxx.
