Jérôme Voisin
Born in Limoges, Jérôme Voisin started playing the clarinet at the age of nine. After studying at the Conservatoire National de Région de Tours with Didier Delettre, he graduated from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Lyon (class of Jacques Di Donato) and continued his musical studies with Pascal Moragues in the advanced cycle of the CNSM of Paris.
Super-soloist at the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France since 2006, he held the position of bass clarinet in the same orchestra from 1996 to 2006.
He has also been regularly invited to play with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra and the Orchestre de Chambre d'Europe under the direction of Claudio Abbado, Daniel Harding, Tugan Sokhiev, Yannick Nezet-Seguin, Semyon Bichkov.
Winner of the international competitions of Rome, Prague and Toulon, he is also an appreciated chamber musician; his partners are Régis Pasquier, Roland Pidoux, Christophe Coin, François Leleux, Laurent Lefevre, Magali Mosnier, Emmanuel Strosser, Romain Guyot, Hortense Cartier-Bresson, Pierre-Alain Volondat...
In 2006, Densité21 released his recording of Marc-André Dalbavie's double concerto Antiphonie for clarinet, basset horn and spatialized orchestra with Romain Guyot and Pascal Rophé.
In 2015 he recorded for the Hérisson label the chamber music of Ysang Yun, octet, quintet no. 2, trio with the Mirae ensemble.
In 2010 he created with Maud Lovett, Bruno Maurice and Fréderic Lagarde the Pasarela Ensemble (violin, (violin, accordion, clarinet and piano) which develops a repertoire that goes from Eastern Europe to South America.
He performed for many years with the group Sorties d'Artistes with whom he recorded En Espagne and Véronique et les autres (based on the work of André Messager).
An ardent defender of contemporary music, he has collaborated with the ensemble TM+ and since 2018 with of ATMusica.
He also played with jazz musicians Stéphane and Lionel Belmondo in their records (Hymne au soleil, Influence with Yusef Lateef, Belmondo and Milton Nascimento and Hymne au soleil 2) and on the stages of Jazz à Vienne Jazz à Vienne, Banlieues Bleues…
Holder of the C.A. of clarinet, Jérôme Voisin teaches clarinet and chamber music at the Pôle Supérieur Paris-Boulogne-Billancourt. He regularly gives master classes in France and abroad (Argentina, Brazil, Japan, Romania, Slovenia…)
