Joris Lumeij
Joris Lumeij studied clarinet as well as saxophone, piano and HAFA conducting at the conservatories of Zwolle and Aachen (Germany). His teachers include Oscar Ramspek, André Kerver and Reinhard Feneberg. He has taken master classes with Karl Leister (Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra), Stanley Drucker (New York Philharmonic Orchestra), Arno Piters (Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra) and Walter Boeykens (international soloist). Prior to his music studies, in 2001 he obtained a diploma as a group teacher in primary education, specialising in music, at the Maastricht Pedagogical Academy.
Between 2007 and 2017, Joris Lumeij was first clarinet of the Royal Military Band “Johan Willem Friso” (KMKJWF),
He is currently clarinetist of the Royal Netherlands Navy Band.
Joris Lumeij has been invited as a soloist by many orchestras, including the Royal Military Band "Johan Willem Friso" and the Marine Band of the Royal Netherlands Navy .
As an artist Henri SELMER Paris, Joris Lumeij is regularly invited as a teacher and conductor for Clarinet days and workshops. He plays the Privilège Bb and A clarinets, as well as the new Evolution series.
