Mathis Polack
At the age of 9, Mathis Polack was introduced to classical music at the Conservatoire de La Rochelle, in Julien Gomila's class. At 15, he continued his training at the Bordeaux Conservatoire.
Between 2010 and 2015, his encounter with Bernard Lubat at the Uzeste Musical Festival marked a decisive turning point in his career. This experience led him to explore jazz and improvised music.
Trained at the Bordeaux Conservatoire by Julien Dubois and Julien Ponvianne, he obtained his DEM in jazz. At the same time, at the Uzeste Festival, he had the opportunity to play with major figures such as Louis Sclavis, Michel Portal, Archie Shepp and Raphael Quennehen. The latter inspired him to take up the sopranino saxophone.
In Bordeaux, he formed his first jazz, improvisation and composition groups, nurtured by a wide range of influences from jazz to Brazilian, Reunion and classical music.
Now based in Toulouse, Mathis Polack is involved in a variety of projects showcasing his musical eclecticism and artistic commitment.
