Ryan Pereira
Ryan Pereira is a clarinetist, technician, and educator. He actively performs, teaches, and runs a clarinet repair and manufacturing shop in the Philadelphia, PA area. Ryan is Principal Clarinetist with the Lehigh Valley Chamber Orchestra and Bass Clarinetist with the Civitasolis Reed Quintet. He has also played with numerous groups throughout the Northeast including the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra, Commonwealth Lyric Opera, and the Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes, and The Roxborough Orchestra. An advocate of new music as well as traditional, Ryan has worked alongside composers for various new works, taking part in numerous world premieres during his career. Ryan has earned his M.M. degree in Clarinet Performance from The Boston Conservatory at Berklee and his B.M. degree in Clarinet Performance and Music Education from Ithaca College Whalen School of Music.
Ryan is also the founder of Pereira 3D Clarinet Services, a company that manufactures clarinet equipment via 3D printing technology along with offering artisan repair services. Ryan has put on masterclasses and workshops with various University clarinet studios, including the University of Delaware, the University of South Carolina, Coastal Carolina University, Lee University, Ithaca College, Five Towns College, The Boston Conservatory at Berklee, and Kutztown University.
Ryan's accolades include winning the 2019 GLORY International Solo Competition, winning the 2018 Brookline Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition, and winning the 2015 Ithaca College Whalen School of Music Concerto Competition. He also placed 2nd in the 2015 ENKOR International Woodwinds, Brass & Percussion Solo Competition based in Germany. Following winning the Brookline Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition, Ryan was the featured soloist in a performance of Oscar Navarro's II Concerto for Clarinet and Symphony Orchestra.
