Danilo Russo
Danilo Russo began his music studies when he was only 5 years old, and then graduated with distinction at the renowned Conservatoire of St. Peter in Naples, having studied with Prof. Francesco Salime. Danilo has achieved a number of awards both as a solo player and as part of chamber music groups. He has joined the Accademia Nazionale of Santa Cecilia in Rome, contributing to various recordings and TV performances, playing with internationally recognised conductors and solo players, such as S. Bollani, W. Marshall, Y. Temirkanov, and E. Morricone. Danilo is also playing with the Teatro Cilea Orchestra in Reggio Calabria, La Nuova Orchestra Scarlatti in Naples, the Foundation Teatro Petruzzelli Orchestra in Bari and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Calabria. As part of the Saxophone Ensemble “F.Salime”, he has taken part in the World Saxophone Congress in Valencia (Spain), Montreal (Canada), and St. Andrews (Scotland).
In the area of music teaching and education, he has published both original studies and adaptations with various publishers, such as Volontè & Co., Eufonia, Musik Fabrik, Music Publishing Edition Impronta. From 2016, he teaches saxophone at the “Tchaikovsky” Conservatoire of Catanzaro - Nocera Terinese.
