Edgar Silva
Edgar António Morado Silva, was born in S. Félix da Marinha, Vila Nova de Gaia. He completed his Bachelor’s in Music Performance and his Master’s Degree in Music Teaching at the Universidade de Aveiro in the class of Professor Luís Carvalho.
He won the First prize in the II Concurso Nacional de Música Terras de La Salette (2009), third in the IV Concurso Nacional Paços'Premium (2010), was a finalist in the Young Artist Competition (YAC), participated in ClarinetFest (2015) in Madrid and third in the “3º Prémio Frederico de Freitas, Universidade de Aveiro” (2016).
Throughout his career he has been collaborating with several orchestras such as the Orquestra Filarmonia das Beiras, Orquestra Sinfónica do Porto Casa da Música, Orquestra Filarmónica Portuguesa and Orchestre National de Lille. He also performed solo with the Wind Orchestra of the Universidade de Aveiro in 2012 and 2017.
He is the principal clarinet of the Orquestra Filarmonia das Beiras, clarinet teacher at the Conservatório de Musica e Artes do Dão (Santa Comba Dão), member of the clarinet ensemble Clarinetíssimo and the sextet Clarinetes Ligature.
