Guillaume Berceau
Born in the south-west of France, Guillaume Berceau began playing the saxophone in a small music school before continuing his studies at the Conservatories of Bordeaux, Bayonne and Toulouse, then at the National Conservatory of Music and Dance in Paris with Claude Delangle. Between 2015 and 2019 he obtained the Master's degree in saxophone, pedagogy and chamber music unanimously with the congratulations of the jury, as well as the Generative Improvisation Prize.
He also distinguished himself during the UFAM and Gap competitions, then by obtaining the first honorary prize of the Bellan competition and the 4th prize of the prestigious International Adolphe Sax Competition in Dinant in 2014. It is with the Quatuor Zahir that he won first prize at the Osaka International Chamber Music Competition in Japan in 2017.
Guillaume is a full professor at the Conservatory of the City of Paris (16th and 17th districts) and at the higher center of Aubervilliers La Courneuve. He also performs as a soloist and within the Zahir Quartet in France and abroad.
