A former professor at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris and at the École Normale de Musique de Paris, Guy Dangain has given master classes all over the world and has trained many talented clarinetists.
He has participated for years in the development of Selmer Paris instruments. He is the designer of the 'Recital' clarinet and the Selmer 'C85 120' mouthpiece.
Guy Dangain has recorded many discs. He was awarded the Charles Cros Academy Prize with the Weber complete chamber music. He was awarded the French disc prize for his interpretation of Debussy's Rhapsodie with the Orchestre National de France conducted by Jean Martinon.
As collection director at Billaudot, he has written some fifty works. He is an Officer of the Arts and Letters.
