Kuba Raczynski
Kuba Raczyński was born in 1980 in Łódź. He is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger and a graduate of Jazz and Popular Music Department in Academy of Music in Katowice – saxophone specialization.
He is the winner of many awards in jazz competitions, such as the award of the President of Łódź for the best jazzman, Grand Prix at the Bielska Zadymka Jazzowa festival in 2009, the award for the best improvisation at the Big Band Festival in Nowy Tomyśl (jury was chaired by Jan Ptaszyn Wróblewski. A multiple participant of the Big Band festival in Nowy Tomyśl. The two-time winner of the Grand Prix with the Big Band of the Academy of Music in Łódź and the Fabryka Wełny Big Band from Pabianice. He was distinguished among the best Polish alto saxophonists in the Jazz Top of the Jazz Forum monthly.
Composer of the song In The Name of Love representing Poland in the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna in 2015 with Monika Kuszyńska, Krystyna Prońko, Ryszard Rynkowski, Zbigniew Wodecki,Zbigniew Zamachowski, Pectus band, Iza Połońska, Tatiana Okupnik and Małgorzata Hutek.
Since 2022, he has been the conductor of the Big Band of the Academy of Music in Łódź.
