Léa Ciechelski
Saxophonist, flutist, improviser and composer, Léa Ciechelski initiated and co-leads the quartets Prospectus (winner of jazz migration #9) and Big Fish (Soro/Ciechelski/Midon/Tessier), as well as the trio Meije (with Vincent Duchosal and Benjamin François). She founded her second quintet, Franges, in 2024, and has been a member of Surnatural Orchestra since 2020, Circé (Arthur Delaleu, Capsul Collectif), and Vaguent (Axel Gaudron), joining the collective and orchestra 2035 and the band Why Patterns? in 2023.
Léa is appointed associate artist at Le Petit Faucheux with Bo Van Der Werf for the 2023-2025 seasons. A joint creation will take place in May 2025.
In July 2022, Léa is awarded the special prize for Best Soloist in the Euroradio Jazz Competition at Jazz in Marciac, with the Groupe Prospectus, sponsored by Alex Dutilh and Radio France.
From 2019 to 2021, she performs with the Orchestre des Jeunes de l'Orchestre National de Jazz (ONJ) (conducted by François Jeanneau, then Franck Tortiller) and in the same years with Frédéric Maurin's ONJ (Dancing in your Heads and Dracula) and Discobole Orchestra.
In 2025, she joined Sylvaine Hélary's ONJ.
She also works with Cirque Inextremiste (on EXIT and PIC), which she joined in 2021, and with director Eliakim Sénégas-Lajus on the multidisciplinary creation Vouloir Gagner.
