Mariano García
Mariano García is a musician with a passion for music and pedagogy.
He is a full-time professor at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Aragón in Zaragoza, Spain. At the University Luca School of Music and Arts in Leuven in Belgium he teaches the Master and postgraduate degree. Since 2016 he has been a professor at the European University of Saxophone in the summer courses in Gap (France). He was a professor at the Wiener Akademie Musik, Austria.
He participates in several international festivals as a teacher and concert performer, Andorra Sax Fest since its beginnings, Vienna Sax Fest (Austria), Birmingham School of Music, Royal Conservatoire of Brussels, Panticosa (Spain) and several cities in Portugal, Italy and China, as well as invited by prestigious American Universities. He is also required as a jury in International competitions.
He forms the chamber duo AniMa DUO together with the excellent pianist Aniana Jaime with whom he has recorded two CDs praised by critics and public. The first of them with the title Sculptures where they recorded transcriptions of the great chamber music, discovering a new vision of this beautiful instrument. The second album, titled Ritmo en el Espacio (Rhythm in Space), consists of the world's first recordings of prestigious contemporary Spanish composers.
In February 2020 they will make a new recording with contemporary works from the classical saxophone repertoire.
